Star receipt printers models TSP654II, TSP700II, TSP800II, and SP700 can be connected to your local WiFi network by using a supported WiFi dongle.
Table of Contents:
Setting up Printer WiFi Connection
1. For initial setup, you will need to connect your printer to the local network via an Ethernet cable. After you have done this, plug the WiFi dongle into the printer.
2. The next step is to get the printer's IP address. To do this, we need the printer to self-print its settings by pressing the FEED button while turning the printer ON and hold until it prints. The IP address can be found at the bottom of the second page.
3. Enter the IP address into the URL bar of your browser. It will take you to the Star Intelligent Network Utility page of the printer.
4. Log into this page. User name: “root”, Password: ”public” as factory settings.
5. On the left, select Wireless Connection.
6. Click the Enter Button under Site Survey. The printer will start searching for available WiFi networks.
7. Select your WiFi network from the list.
8. Enter the Security Key (your WiFi password) and click Connect.
9. Click Save on the left (under the Network Configuration menu). During this stage, do not click the browser’s back button, otherwise, the settings will be undone.
10. Select one of the options on this page and press execute.
11. Wait around 30 seconds, power the printer OFF, and perform a self-test again. The new IP address will appear under the wireless network section on the self-test's second page.
