Metrc Inventory Migration for Oklahoma

  • Last updated on September 4, 2023 at 11:49 AM

This information applies to our existing customers in Oklahoma, who are beginning to track their cannabis sales via the Metrc track-and-trace system.

All customers in Oklahoma must migrate the current product quantity to Metrc. In order to facilitate this process, the "Inventory Migration" section, in which companies indicate the correct categories and the products that will be migrated, must be organized.

Following our guidelines will help you to prepare for Metrc and ensure compliance, as well as avoid inventory errors, manual migration work for you and your employees, fees for professional services, and a possible shutdown.

Order Package Tags

Package tags are designed specifically for transfers. The tag is perforated and has two sections showing identical barcode information. Cannabis producers are required to order and use tags to track all packages. Tags are essential and you cannot operate in Metrc without them.

Metrc requires 1 tag per package in your inventory. If the package was not accepted through Metrc, you will be required to attach a tag to it.

Only the admin can purchase tags from their Metrc account.

Audit your inventory

Make sure you have a consistent naming convention for your products in IndicaOnline and check for any duplicate product profiles. Merge them into one profile and hide the duplicates if there is a sales history. Complete a live inventory count and make sure IndicaOnline matches what you have on the floor and in your storage.

Migrate inventory

In order for your Edibles to be migrated to Metrc, make sure to specify at least one ingredient in each Edible product profile.

Once you have completed your inventory audit, you can begin connecting the products you have in IndicaOnline to the correct package quantity type and category in Metrc. To simplify this process we have built a widget into IndicaOnline.

NOTE: Access to the Inventory Migration page is only available to employees:

Navigate to Apps→Inventory Migration on IndicaOnline Web.

Here you can:

  • View the number of products that are ready for migration and the expected amount of tags you have to order for the packages.
  • View and sort the product collection by its product name (default).
  • View the quantity of MMJ products available. Products with available quantities of 0 are not visible.
  • View Product Category.
  • View Quantity Type (Weight/Count).
  • View Metrc Category.
  • View Facility Name.
  • View Package Quantity.
  • Enable/Disable the "Ready For Migration" toggle.
  • Open and assign Metrc Category under "Actions".

11-27-2019_11-09-24_AM.jpg Make sure that you have purchased enough tags for the inventory migration to be complete. You will see the required number of tags (Expected Tags) after you have assigned Metrc categories to all of your inventory. We recommend you buy an ample amount of tags as you will require them later when splitting packages.
